Job Corps/ Kidz Online Pilot Program
Kidz Online -
Mission: to evaluate the effectiveness of
Kids teaching Kids essential IT Skills using the NNKOL
curriculum and approach within the Job Corps Career Preparation
Period.
The general purpose of the Pilot Program is to:
a. Introduce and train the 3 participating Job Corps Center
teaching staff to NNKOL curriculum and support its integration
into their training in the CPP. Evaluate the state of readiness
of both the faculty/staff and the student/trainee population
for their use of NNKOL content and curriculum.
b. To support the creation of materials that can be reused by
JC Centers in their ongoing training efforts and that can be
distributed via NNKOL to wider audiences via the web
channel.
c. Create a documentation trail (including a video profile) of
the project capable of chronicling the Pilot’s
effectiveness.
d. Explore the further integration of the NNKOL curriculum into
other Job Corps areas such as The Career Development Period,
and in the other degree/certificate training programs that they
provide.
