As technology becomes ever more pervasive in our lives and schools countless numbers of young women are experiencing a "Gender Gap" in technology training. gURL Tech addresses the gender gap, and the different modes of learning utilized by the different sexes. Young women tend to prefer more in depth coverage of a given topic and more cooperative forms of learning. To this end, gURL Tech uses the news show format, through which correspondents explore topics that relate technology to the lives of the average teenager, as well as showcasing outstanding teens and featuring interviews with professional women in a variety of technology fields. Every episode also presents a debate topic, relevant to the tech unit for that episode, that is debated and then put to a panel discussion or street interviews with local high school students. gURL Tech provides the grounded perspective on technology that allows viewers to relate it all to their own lives.
