Reston, VA -Kidz Online (KOL) announced today their exhibition plans for the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC). KOL will be located in Booths (1558-60) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. Their exhibition will run from 9:30 AM Monday, June 21 through 2:30 PM Wednesday June 23.
The KOL exhibit will showcase many of the new and exciting resources available free of charge to educators through their internet portal at www.kidzonline.org. During the exhibition, teachers and staff who have designed and used KOL content and their unique approach to tech-enabled learning, will present a series of short seminars to demonstrate the power of these educational technology tools. The seminars include presentations on subject/grade specific applications to hands-on activities such as how to use digital imaging in classroom teaching. All seminars are free of charge and available on a space available basis. The seminars begin on the hour and will run approximately 20-minutes.
Visitors to the KOL exhibition will see how the breadth and depth of their resources span the curriculum through the use of integrated lesson plans. Their unique approach to peer-based learning, having kids involved in the production of learning materials targeted to other kids, is a signature trait of all KOL programming. In addition to their rich repository of learning resources, KOL provides the professional development support for educators to gain confidence in their skills to teach the tech infused lessons that engage and motivate students in their desire to want to learn.
Kidz Online will be sponsoring registration for a daily drawing of a high quality digital camera. The use of these digital cameras for instructional purposes will be the focus of the Digital Imaging Across the Curriculum seminar.
KOL is a non-profit digital educational service. KOL strives to help students and teachers increase their knowledge of the rapidly changing world of technology and how to integrate into their ongoing new literacy experiences. Learn more at www.kidzonline.org.
